Overlays with Cloud OBS — server-side, no setup
On IRL Pro+, FizzyPeak composites your overlays into the picture server-side — no browser widget, no app setup. When Cloud OBS is the way and when the scene link is enough.

Overlays with Cloud OBS — server-side, no setup
There are two ways to get your overlays into the picture. For most people the scene overlay link is enough — you drop it into OBS, Moblin or Larix yourself. The second way is Cloud OBS (from IRL Pro+): here FizzyPeak assembles your scene directly on the server before the stream goes out.
When do you need Cloud OBS?
- Your encoder can't do overlays. Some hardware encoders and cameras just push out the picture — with no browser widget there's nowhere for the link to go. Cloud OBS then composites server-side.
- You want to run it all centrally. Scene switches and overlays from the dashboard, instead of setting things up on the phone.
- Server-side effects: 9:16 conversion, multiple cameras, Twitch dual — things that have to happen on the server.
In short: if your encoder can do web overlays (OBS, Moblin, Larix), the scene overlay link is enough — from Creator. Cloud OBS is for the cases where the compositing can't or shouldn't happen on your device.
How it works with Cloud OBS
- Cloud OBS is part of IRL Pro+ — enable it in the dashboard under IRL / Cloud Studio
- Cloud OBS automatically takes over your scenes and overlays from the scene editor
- You stream to FizzyPeak as usual — the finished mix with overlays goes to your platforms
No browser widget, no link to embed — the picture comes out fully composited.
And the normal way?
For everyone on OBS, Moblin or Larix, the scene overlay link is the faster route: one link you embed yourself, no Pro+. Both ways use the same scene editor — you design once, whichever way you go.
