Testing My Setup with FizzyPeak Starter
FizzyPeak Starter is not a production streaming tool — Starter is your setup test lab. Before you spend real money on Belabox hardware, before you go live on Twitch or YouTube, before you commit to a subscription: test your complete streaming setup risk-free.
What can I test with Starter? - Does my encoder work (OBS, Belabox, Moblin, IRL Pro, Larix, LiveU)? - How stable is the bitrate on my internet line? - Does my hotel/corporate/mobile network let UDP/SRT through? - Do my overlays look the way I imagined? - Do I understand the FizzyPeak dashboard — is the tool right for me? You lose nothing, you pay nothing. If it all fits → upgrade to Creator. If not → just sign out.
Step 1 — Create an account (30 seconds)
- Open https://fizzypeak.stream → Register
- Enter email + password → automatically on the Starter tier
- Log in → the Live tab opens with a setup checklist at the top
Step 2 — Create a streaming destination (2 minutes)
Even in test mode you need at least one destination, otherwise FizzyPeak has nothing to relay.
Option A — Real platform (recommended if you want to stream anyway)
- Sidebar → Multistream → + Destination
- Twitch with your real stream key
- Save
Option B — Private test stream
- YouTube: create a "Private" stream → use the stream key → no one sees it except you
- Twitch: use your stream key but don't go live → we only relay once you click
Step 3 — Set up the encoder (5 minutes)
At the bottom of the Live tab you'll see encoder cards for OBS, Belabox, Moblin, IRL Pro, Larix, LiveU.
- Click the encoder you want to test → a modal with step-by-step instructions
- "Copy URL" for the SRT or RTMP server
- "QR code" for mobile encoders (Moblin, IRL Pro)
- Paste into the encoder → Start streaming
Important: This is just a push to FizzyPeak — not yet to Twitch/YT. As long as you don't click "Go Live", no one but you sees anything.
Step 4 — Verify the setup
As soon as you're sending, the test begins:

In the Live tab, the stream preview appears:
- 🟢 Status green → the stream is arriving
- Bitrate display → is it constant at your CBR value, or does it fluctuate?
- Live image → refreshes every 2 seconds, you see your OBS/Belabox output
What you should check:
- ✅ Status green = encoder is pushing through
- ✅ Bitrate = roughly what you set in OBS/Belabox
- ✅ Image shows your scene/camera correctly
- ⚠️ Black screen = source missing in OBS
- ⚠️ Bitrate drops regularly = internet too weak for your settings
Live health metrics
In the Live tab or via !b in Twitch chat: bitrate, RTT, packet loss

→ 7-day history viewable — you can see at which times of day your network wobbles.
Step 5 — A real test stream to the platform
Once everything is green on your end:
- The setup checklist at the top shows 4× ✓
- Click "Go Live" → FizzyPeak relays to your destination
- On Twitch/YouTube/Kick: your stream appears with a watermark in the bottom right
- Test for 5–10 minutes, checking whether:
- Audio + video are in sync - Overlays render correctly - The bitrate arrives stably on the platform
- "End stream" → done
What Starter CANNOT do (and why that's OK when testing)

Once you want to stream real live content → upgrading to Creator (€12/mo) removes all these limits.
Decision help after the test
Everything ran green → book Creator if you:
- Want to go to multiple platforms in parallel
- Need disconnect protection (stream stays live when your setup wobbles)
- Want to use recordings / AI mod / Auto-Clip
- Want the watermark gone
Everything ran green, but you only need 1 platform and no protection → you're welcome to stay on Starter (honestly: then streaming directly to Twitch is enough for you)
Bitrate drops, RTT high, packet loss > 1% → fix your network/hardware first, then test again
